Magellan Triton 2000 Handheld GPS Reviews
Up for review: Magellan Triton 2000 GPS. Nothing can beat a Magellan when it comes to handheld GPS. The user interface is extremely easy to use. Magellan has revised its previous interface and made the new one very user-friendly. A touch screen has been integrated into this unit which makes navigation among the menu items simple and intuitive. The 2.7” QVGA screen is visible even under the harshest sunlight. Prior to this unit, the touch screen had not been integrated into a handheld GPS as they are expected to be rugged and tough. And a touch screen requires a gentle handling. But Magellan has done a good job on this and made a success out of the Magellan Triton 2000.
The Magellan Triton 2000 has integrated the VantagePoint™ software which helps to manage and upload maps, content, updates and upgrades on your computer. You can even save the routes you cover for future use. The features which put the Magellan Triton 2000 a class apart are the 2MP digital camera, flashlight, speaker and microphone. You can mark locations on properties and record pictures and notes of these waypoints. These photos and notes are saved and can be accessed when you access the particular waypoint. And if you get too immersed in doing this, then the flashlight will help you find your way back in the darkness. Of course, you have the indispensable Magellan Triton 2000 in your hand for directions!
The Magellan Triton 2000 is waterproof and so you do not have to worry about getting it wet when traveling in boats or kayaks. It will not spoil your enthusiasm for adventure. It has also made the National Geographic Topographical Maps available on the device. The next feature we can expect from Magellan is most probably related to aerial photography. This feature would add spice to the already fully developed Triton 2000.
