The text-to-speech functionality with an affordable price tag makes the device a perfectly useful GPS unit for the drivers. Offering real-time traffic tracking capability, TomTom has created a really functional device with One XL-S.
The TomTom ONE XL-S review is positive about the exclusive “Map Share” feature of TomTom that allows the user to send map updates from their GPS device to other TomTom. Also the user can download and install Map updates shared by other users. The users can also take advantage of the “Help Me” menu to locate the nearest police station, hospital and other service providers. One XL- S is preloaded with maps of Canada and US. However, users can download additional maps using TomTom Home software. Apart from 480×272 resolution and 4.3” widescreen, the model is designed with 1GB internal memory and SD slot.
Although the TomTom ONE XL-S supports Bluetooth, it’s only for sending text messages. The feature doesn’t allow hands-free calling. The GPS system also lacks other high-end features such as remote control, image viewer and MP3 player.
